Where the Foundation finds during the condolence visits that the spouse of a fallen security operative has no viable source of income, or that what she does for a living cannot reasonably support the bereaved family, we introduce such spouses to small and medium scale business classes run by the Foundation for economic empowerment.
When the trainings are completed in their choices of medium scale businesses, the Foundation grants fund to run the business to ensure that the kids are adequately fed and catered for. While monitoring the growth of the business, the Foundation also envisions supporting the families with payment of about or half of the salary of the fallen serviceman on monthly basis. This continues for a gestation period of FIVE (5) YEARS, allowing the choice of business to thrive and form a strong capital base that the family can safely rely on afterwards.
